Since 1924 the Oshkosh Public Museum has been exhibiting more than 250,000 documents and artifacts that outline the history of exploration, settlement and development of Oshkosh and the surrounding area.
Established in 1948, The Paine Art Center and Gardens is located in a Tudor Revival mansion with botanical gardens surround the center. Featured at the center is collection of decorative arts, period rooms and furnishings, sculptures, photography, and 19th century American and French paintings.
The AirVenture Museum boasts a collection of 95 full size aircraft, as well as models, engines, propellers, an interactive display and more. A fascinating air show takes place on runway 18/36 daily at 3:30 in the afternoon. Airplane rides may also be arranged.
Started in 1991, the Military Veterans Museum in Oshkosh has grown into a sizable educational center. Displays focus on the progression of the Navy and the Army through photographs, uniforms, vehicles, medals, stories and more. Both group tours and individuals are welcome to visit Monday to Friday from 12pm to 5pm.
