Found on the shores of Lake Winnebago near the Fox River in eastern Wisconsin,
Oshkosh is an angler's paradise. A number of fishing companies operate in the
city and the surrounding communities, taking people through public and private
waters in search of a trophy catch. From its heyday in the late 1800s, Oshkosh
now boasts several impressive buildings, the Grand Opera House and the Morgan
House. Golf is another popular pastime, with several courses of the city catering
to all levels of players. Summertime in Oshkosh is a great time for families
to visit, as the city's zoo and recreational park, Menominee, has plenty to
see and do. Popular summer events attract many people and include the Brews
and Blues Festival (July) and the Winnebago County Fair (August).
